Rules

Basic Rules:

  • This is a private pool, if you have not been referred here by someone already in the pool then you cannot enter. Thanks for visiting though.
  • Entry fee is $30 per person and all entry fees must be received by the start of Week 4 (Sunday, October 3, 1999).
  • Prize money will be determined by the total number of entries. All entry fees are paid out in full and actual prize amounts will be determined after all entries are received prior to Week 4. For a complete breakdown of possible prize amounts click here.

Playing:

  • Every week each person will pick 8 games against the spread and a point total for the Monday night game.
  • If you miss a week you can pick 12 games for 2 weeks to catch up.
  • Only players picking 8 games will be eligible for the weekly prize.
  • Weekly prizes are awarded to the player with the least amount of losses for that week. If 2 or more players tie then Monday Night Total Points will be used to break the tie with the player with the closest total taking the prize. If 2 or more players have the same difference from the total score the prize for that week will be split evenly. Anyone who does not include their Monday Night Total Points will no be eligible for the weekly tie breaker.
i.e.: someone who does not include their Total Points is not considered as 0 Total Points and only 3 points off of a 3-0 score.
  • The first person to go 8-0 will be awarded a one time only perfect week prize. If 2 or more players have the first perfect week during the same week the prize will be split evenly.
  • Overall prizes for 1st,  2nd and 3rd places will be determined by the least amount of losses.
i.e.: someone with a record of 100 wins, 18 losses and 18 ties would finish ahead of someone with 100 wins and 36 losses.
  • The last place prize will be determined by the player with the least amount of wins. See above for an example.
  • In order to win the last place prize the player must have picked all possible games for the season (136).
  • The lines for each week will be posted here and will come from Wednesdays line at http://www.nss.net/Line.asp.
  • Games with no lines are not available for the pool. These games will still be published with the rest of the weeks games, do not pick them! Players that pick a no line game will be short a game for that week and no line picks will not count as anything in the standings. Unlike previous years there will be no make ups allowed for picking a no line game.
